If you are, a university student, a recent graduate, a PhD student or an early career professional with up to 2 years of work experience, then don’t miss the chance and accept the challenge !
Join this journey either solo or as a team (with 4 members max.) and start working on real data collected by satellites in order to give a tech solution for a safer world !
Interesting, right? Now let’s focus into the details of the challenge.
Phase 1 | February 1st – March 10th
During Phase 1, you will be asked to develop a machine learning and AI model by using high resolution satellite data to assess storm damage, while supporting disaster response and recovery efforts in data-poor coastal environments.
Phase 2 | March 11th – April 21st This Phase is all about developing a business plan to describe how the proposed model from Phase 1 can be used in real life scenarios, aiming to secure the infrastructure and minimize the socioeconomic consequences .
Of course, this Challenge couldn’t lack of extraordinary surprises ! The 3 finalists will win cash prices , while they will have the chance to attend the IGARSS – International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium international conference this July in Athens, where the award ceremony will take place !
